INGREDIENTS :
- Basmati Rice : Washed and Soaked
- Whole garam masala
- (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper)
- Ginger-Garlic paste : 1 tsp
- Onions : 1, chopped lengthwise
- Shahjeera : ? tsp
- Bay Leaves : few
- Mint(optional) : 2 tsp, finely chopped
- Cilantro : 2 tsp, finely chopped
- Turmeric powder : little
- Garam masala powder : ? tsp
- Dhaniya powder : 1 tsp
- Salt
- Oil / Ghee
METHOD :
- Heat Ghee . Add Shahjeera, whole garam masala and bay leaves.
- Now add the chopped onions, fry till they turn little brown, and add ginger-garlic paste.
- Fry for a while then add all the dry masala?s along with mint and cilantro.
- Fry till the raw flavor of the masala?s vanish.
- Now add the soaked rice, mix well and pour in water (preferably hot water).
- Close lid, let it cook on high flame for a while when water evaporates a little. Stir then lower the flame and close the lid tightly and cook till done.
