TAMARIND CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/2 cup tamarind (imli)
  • 2 tbsp. jaggery (gur), grated
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. roasted cumin seed powder (jeera)
  • 1/4 tsp. coriander seeds, crushed
  • Salt according to taste

TAMARIND CHUTNEY 1

METHOD : Soak the tamarind in 3/4 cup of warm water for 30 minutes. Squeeze out the pulp from the tamarind mixture. Add the jaggery, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander seeds and salt and mix well. Add water if needed. Strain the mixture until it becomes thick.
