Prepare yourself for medical emergencies at home. You never know when you might have to reach out for that bottle of Dettol or that tube of antiseptic.
First of all, it is advisable to have a home First Aid shelf. Its dimensions can be three feet by two feet in height and breadth respectively, and there should be six inches space between the rear and the front of the shelf. It should be locked, and the key hung on a peg above the rack out of reach of toddlers. If these simple remedies suggested here fail to have the desired effect after a few days, please consult your doctor.

Paracetamol is the safest and most effective analgesic and antipyretic drug. It comes in both tablet and syrup form and can be used for the rapid release of fever, pains, and aches such as headache, sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, earache, toothache, osteoarthritis, and postoperative pain. Dental pain is a widespread occurrence among all age groups. The pain may vary from a mild throbbing type to the severe lancinating type. Paracetamol relieves this pain until a dentist attends to the problem. In patients suffering from hemophilia which is a clotting disorder, those having a peptic ulcer, or those in whom asthma is precipitated by aspirin, it is preferable to use paracetamol.
