That Stubborn Cellulite: 6 (Natural) Ways to Get Rid Of It! 1

We all should love our bodies, no matter what size we are, or even what shape we’re in. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Take cellulite, for example. Have you ever wondered what it is? The medical explanation is it’s subcutaneous fat that stores on our hips and thighs that can be really hard to get rid of. In Layman’s Terms, it’s whatever causes our body to look like it has dimples—and not the cute kind.

There’s good news. There are several things that you can do that will help to reduce the appearance of cellulite on your body. All of the suggestions are cheap and effective.

Yep. This is your lucky day! Here are some of the natural ways to keep your cellulite in check!

1. Try a sugar and coffee scrub.

You’ve probably heard of sugar scrub before, but to soften the appearance of cellulite, add some coffee to it. The combo helps to deeply exfoliate dead skin cells so that new ones can emerge. As for the coffee itself, not only does it increase your metabolism, but it also helps to tighten your skin. The key is to apply some olive oil to your skin, then massage the scrub onto your trouble spots. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and shower. Repeat this 2-3 times per week in order to see results.

2. Do some dry brushing.

A really great way to treat cellulite is to dry brush your body. That helps to tighten up your epidermis and also get rid of the toxins that are causing the cellulite in the first place. Just make sure to use a brush that has natural stiff bristles, to do it while your skin is dry and to shower immediately following. If your cellulite is really pronounced, it doesn’t hurt to dry brush in the mornings and evenings too.

3. Have a seaweed massage.

Put “seaweed” in your favorite search engine and you’ll notice that it’s a hot food trend right now. It contains calcium, iron and magnesium. Plus, it has more Vitamin C in it than oranges. It also has natural iodine to keep your thyroid functioning in a healthy way, and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s an excellent detoxing food, which is why it should be no surprise that it’s on the cellulite removal list. One-fourth cup of sea salt and olive oil, one teaspoon of coconut oil, four teaspoons of seaweed and a few drops of lavender oil will create a paste that’s perfect for rubbing onto your legs. Massage into the skin for 10-15 minutes and bathe.

4. Eat gelatin.

Gelatin has amino acids and glycine in it. Both help to keep your skin smooth and even. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan, you may be low in both because they are more easily found in meat and animal products. You need amino acids because they build muscle, reduce fat, and keep your skin, hair, and nails in good shape. If you don’t want to get gelatin by eating meat or drinking bone broth, try Jello!

5. Get into a detox bath.

We already touched on the importance of detoxifying your system in order to rid your body of cellulite. Another way to do this is to take a detox bath. You can pour in some apple cider vinegar (the potassium, magnesium and calcium will help to flush the toxins out). You can soak in a tub of warm water and sea salt. Or how about a green tea bath? The antioxidants alone will have your skin looking and feeling amazing.

6. Try some kettlebells.

Do you have a set of kettlebells? If not, make sure you get some. Not only will they help to tone your legs, thighs and buttocks, but since they help to increase blood flow as you work out, they can dissolve cellulite too. Use them 3-4 times per week for no less than 15 minutes and watch how amazing your body looks!
