  1. The first step is to get all of the ingredients ready. Buy the following ingredients and get them ready before you start:
    • spiral pasta
    • corn
    • green beans, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces
    • lean leg ham, cut into short strips
    • red capsicum, cut into thin strips
    • ripe tomatoes, chopped
    • flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped
    • small avocado, peeled, stone removed, chopped
    • salad dressing
  2. After you’ve prepared all of the ingredients, get a large saucepan. Fill the saucepan with water and bring the water to the boiling point. Throw the pasta in the saucepan and cook the pasta as instructed on the packet (usually on the back of the packet it says for how long you should cook it to get the pasta ready) and when it is done, drain the pasta and put it in a large bowl.
  3. In the second step, you need to cook the vegetables. Boil water again in a smaller (or the same) saucepan and add the beans and corn. Cook the vegetables for about a minute or until the beans go bright green. When ready, drain the vegetables and rinse under cold water.
  4. Add the beans, corn, ham, capsicum, tomato, and parsley to the pasta while it is still warm and toss gently. Then add the dressing, avocado, and some salt and pepper. Toss again to combine with the rest of the vegetables.
  5. You can serve the pasta salad when ready or you if you like cold pasta, you can let it to settle and then put it in the fridge so you can eat it later. You can also prepare it the night before when going to the beach or for a picnic.
