Garden Tools: The Right Tool for the Right Job

Garden Tools: The Right Tool for the Right Job 1

You’d have to agree that a garden is a very special place. It is the one place where nature meets with us, up close and personal, within the concrete jungle. If you spend a little time just sitting and taking it in you will see it offers so many pleasurable gifts to enjoy! It’s the place most people find refuge, where time can be halted and the day can be enjoyed without rushing or worrying about the stresses of deadlines and long to-do lists.

Like anything worthwhile in life, if you want to continue enjoying your garden you need to make the effort to keep it tidy and well-maintained. Any garden requires ongoing attention if you want it to keep on flourishing. It may be a little work on the weekend, but the reward is truly wonderful. If you want a gift that keeps on giving, create a garden that needs low maintenance and which offers beauty and grace all year long.

Any garden needs to be kept, and for this there are many different tools that can be used. It is not necessary to do it all manually, you only have to visit any gardening shop to realise this. Gardening is a continuous task, or to some more like a hobby. I think it transitions from a task to hobby the moment you acquire the right tools.

Garden tools are handy and most do not require a manual to operate. If we look at a garden broom chances are you’ve used a similar tool in-house to sweep the floors. It is really the same basic principal. There is really no need to have a whole shed full of garden tools. There are a few must-haves, but extend the range of tools as your love affair with your garden becomes more and more intense. Otherwise, you may end up having garden tools just because they seemed nifty in store, but being not tools that you will ever need in your garden.

Lawnmowers

Are you looking for a lawnmower that will make mowing your lawn a pleasure? Any gardener will tell you that it is essential to own a high quality lawnmower if you want to enjoy the beauty of lush lawn.

You do, however, have to recognise that a good quality lawnmower might just cost you an arm and a leg. There are also various options to choose from, such as electric or petrol-based engines, walk-behind or ride-on lawnmower. Then there is of course the number of lawnmower brands.

Line Trimmers

As stated before, a healthy, lush and green lawn is a feast to the eye. Nothing is more complimenting to any garden. In fact, even if you don’t have much of a garden, a lawn is nature’s natural carpet which rounds off any property. Any lawn needs to be trimmed, because that keeps it neat and tidy. This however can be a tremendous job if you need to do it manually. This for many young boys who are now in their adult lives is a pet hate, because many Saturdays were sacrificed mowing or trimming dad’s lawn.

Technology is not only comfortable and nice to have, but to these men, is a life saver. A string trimmer, also called a line trimmer, edge trimmer, weed eater (a brand name), weed whacker, Weed Whip, weedy, whipper snipper, trimmer, garden strimmer, or bush cutter is a powered handheld device that uses a flexible monofilament line instead of a blade for cutting grass and other plants near objects.

This in itself is such a pleasure having a tool that helps the trimming of plants near objects that you don’t want to damage. A trimmer is not only handy, but also very easy to use. It consists of a cutting head at the end of a long shaft with a handle or handles and sometimes a shoulder strap.
